Since debuting on Food Network in 1994, Flay has continuously hosted television programs that bring cooking tips and information on American regional fare to a national and international audience. His series include the Emmy award-winning Bobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction, Brunch @ Bobby's (Cooking Channel), Throwdown with Bobby Flay and Food Network Star. In March 2014, Beat Bobby Flay, where every week a competitor tries to beat Bobby, premiered to great success. He also appears on the Great Chefs television series, on Iron Chef and Iron Chef America, and hosts various network specials. Bobby Flay Fit, a series with healthy recipes and tips for fitness, first launched in 2013, and will be moving from foodnetwork.com to Food Network as a multi-part special in early 2015.
Flay is the owner and executive chef of several restaurants and in 2014 opened a new restaurant called Gato (cat) in New York City to critical acclaim. Other Flay restaurants include Mesa Grill in Las Vegas and the Bahamas; Bar Americain in New York and at Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, Connecticut; Bobby Flay Steak in Atlantic City and Bobby's Burger Palace in 18 locations across 11 states. Aside from his restaurants and television shows, Flay has been a master instructor and visiting chef at the French Culinary Institute.
