The best of Michigan's high school theatre students are coming together Sunday, May 20, at Wharton Center's Cobb Great Hall for the 7th Annual Sutton Foster Ovation Awards. The award is a celebration of outstanding achievement and recognizes individual artistry in vocal, dance and acting performances for both a male and female lead in a high school musical theatre production. Neighborhood Theatre Group (NTG) wraps up their 3rd season with an original sketch comedy musical called CAN I HELP YOU?, May 10-12 and 17-19 at Dreamland Theater (26 N. Washington St) in downtown Ypsilanti. All performances start at 8pm with doors opening at 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 online, $12 at the door, and $7 for students with a valid ID. Phone rings, door chimes, in comes Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's musical Company, which closes out The Ringwald Theatre's 11th season exactly on the theatre's 11th birthday-May 11. Winner of 6 Tony Awards in 1971, Company also happens to celebrate a birthday. Bobby is 35 and single. His friends are married and nosy. Bobby isn't getting any younger. And his friends won't let him forget it.
