Denton Community Theatre Announces Auditions for THE PRODUCERS 5/24, 5/25

Auditions for The Producers, will be held May 24 & 25 at 7:30 pm at the Campus Theatre, located at 214 W. Hickory Street in downtown Denton. The production is being directed by Bill Kirkley with music direction by Ray Staniszewski and choreography by Cindy Lee.

Auditions are open - no appointments. The directors ask that you arrive prior to the 7:30 audition time to complete paperwork - auditioners will move into the theatre at 7:30 for any announcements. . An audition sheet is available at DCT's website www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com. Auditoners should bring a prepared song and sheet music. Please be prepared to sing 16 bars with piano. Please no cd's or recorded music.

There are roles for 5 men ages 20's - 50's, 1 woman 20's-40's, 3 women 30's-50's

and an ensemble of men and women all ages. A German accent is a plus for some males.

There are no roles for children.
Comfortable clothes should be worn for movement audition which will be be taught each night. Cold readings will be for main characters at the callbacks. Date and place TBA. Ensemble members will not necessarily be called back but would still have multiple roles in the show. All ensemble members will play a wide variety of roles from theatre patrons, street people, dancing girls, accountants, little old ladies, prisoners, and of course singing and dancing nazis.

Rehearsals begin June 1st and run through the summer with performance dates of August 6, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22. Please bring a list of all conflicts, evening and weekends for the summer.
