2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Registration Now Open

By: Oct. 17, 2011

Why did the comedian cry and cry and cry? Because he missed the registration period for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. And then to rub it in, his friend said: "But it was so easy, you could even do it online!"

The 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival will take place from Wednesday 28 March - Sunday 22 April and registrations to get your show in the program open today, Monday 17 October at 12noon.

The 2011 Festival had over 350 shows including local and international stand up, musical comedy, theatre, kids comedy, visual art and cabaret. There were over 950 adventurous artists sharing their comedy wares to over 600,000 audience members over a period of 26 days.

Festival General Manager Virginia Lovett says, "Melbourne International Comedy Festival is a 'must perform' event for many national and international comedians.  As one of the largest comedy festivals in the world the festival provides an environment and audience for all genres of comedy."

If you have a penchant for making people's grins widen and guts tighten with your yarns and witticisms, get on board and register online at www.comedyfestival.com.au.

All information concerning key dates, venues, ticketing, marketing and publicity for your unique admission into the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival are included on the site.

Sit down at your computer and get yourself ready to stand up. Join the frenzy of fun and laughter at the country's largest (and funniest) annual cultural festival and show Melbourne audiences what you have to offer.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival will be holding information sessions in Melbourne (dates TBC) and for the first time Sydney on Wed 26th October at 6pm. Call (03) 9245 3700 for details.
