The NYC medical examiner's office told the AP that Savoia's official cause of death has not yet been determined.

He was found off Chelsea Piers and was last seen leaving the Marquee nightclub at 4 a.m. on Thursday, February 13. BWW will bring you updates as we know more.

According to The New York Times, Savoia "was something of a celebrity among vintage-clothing aficionados" and "his designs embodied the flair and panache of New York in the 1930s and 1940s: rakish fedoras, wide lapels and billowy pinstripe trousers".
