(9/19/2014) - In 1955, a 14-year-old black Chicago youth traveled to the Mississippi Delta with country kinfolk and southern cooking on his mind. He walked off the train and into a world he could never understand. It was a world of thick color lines, of hard-held class systems and unspeakable taboos. Young Emmett crossed that line and stepped into his gruesome fate by whistling at a white woman. This riveting play chronicles the murder, trial and unbelievable confession of the men accused of Till's lynching.
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Opens 10/2 at Judson Theatre Company
(9/18/2014) - Two weeks from tonight is opening night for the Judson Theatre Company production of To Kill a Mockingbird, the final show of JTC's 2014 season. The production will open Thursday, October 2 and run through Sunday, October 5 at Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst.
DPAC Sets New Broadway Season Ticket Record
(9/17/2014) - SunTrust Broadway at DPAC, the region's No. 1 performing arts series is also now the No. 1 one-week Broadway season ticket program in the country with over 15,000 season seat members. This signature series features over 100 touring Broadway performances each season, including the spectacular brand new production of The Phantom of the Opera, Motown the Musical, Kinky Boots, Newsies, Pippin, and many more. The new season ticket mark of 15,000 exceeds last year's total by almost 1,000 season seat members.

(9/16/2014) - So we have just arrived in Durham, NC. We had our closing week in DC and with understudy rehearsals and a lot of different people being swung on. I made my debut as Mr. Schumacher. I haven't had that much fun in a while. I gotta say the cast, crew, and wardrobe were awesome as they helped direct me and guide me through my shows.Also, We had Alexendra Mateo, Nikki Spencer, and Joshua Keith all having debuts doing new bits in the show and they did great! In all DC was a success.

North Carolina Symphony to Open 2014-15 Pops Series with WEST SIDE STORY, 9/26-27
(9/10/2014) - The North Carolina Symphony, led by conductor Grant Llewellyn will open its 2014-15 Pops Series with performances of West Side Story in Meymandi Concert Hall on Friday, Sept. 26, and Saturday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. Leonard Bernstein's electrifying score will be played by the orchestra live, while the newly re-mastered film is projected on the giant screen in high definition. Bursting with drama, excitement and timeless songs - including "Tonight," "America," "Somewhere" and many more - West Side Story remains one of the greatest movies ever made.
David Burnham Departs Garner Center's BROADWAY VOICES Lineup
(9/9/2014) - David Burnham, a favorite with the Garner audience, was just cast and will open an exciting show in Vegas. This is an incredible opportunity for Burnham, but prevents him from kicking off the Broadway Voices season in December.
