Working together with our partners at Segerstrom Center for the Arts and Patina Catering, we look forward to bringing this unparalleled experience and magical place of silliness, frivolity, fun, intimacy and self expression to audiences in Southern California."
Terrence W. Dwyer, president of Segerstrom Center for the Arts, said, "We are thrilled to welcome Teatro ZinZanni to Orange County for all of Southern California to enjoy. This is just the sort of exciting and unexpected entertainment experience that we like to present at the Center, and we hope that Love, Chaos & Dinner will be enjoyed as a special treat for the entire community during the fall and holiday season." Opening October 24, LOVE, CHAOS, & DINNER stars two veteran Teatro ZinZanni performers: master improvisational artist, humorist and physical comedian Kevin Kent and legendary blues singer Duffy Bishop.
Kent and Bishop are joined by a spectacular cast of all-star cirque artists, musicians, acrobats and
dancers from around the world including the Die Maiers, from Germany, who combine trapeze with
clowning for what critics have called "truly one of the most superbly orchestrated and physically dexterous clown acts ever created;" Australian juggler and comedian Joel Salom, who got his start as a street performer in his native Sydney rising to star as master of ceremonies in the 2000 Olympic Games; Austrian Amazon Manuela Horn, a six-feet tall yodeling, dancing, acting and comedic force of nature; Les Petits Freres, from France, defying gravity with their graceful aerial acrobatics and physical comedy; and the beautiful Ukrainian contortionist Vita Radionova with her elegant and sensual acrobatic artistry.
Described by The New York Times as "this city's hottest ticket," Teatro ZinZanni was created by Pacific Northwest non-profit arts and events producer One Reel in 1998 and enjoyed a sold-out 14 month run in Seattle before bringing its antique "Spiegeltent" to San Francisco in 2000. A huge hit in San Francisco as well, KGO radio personality Jerry Friedman described Teatro ZinZanni as "... my all-time favorite show that keeps getting better and better. It'll be the best time you'll ever have!" Originally scheduled for a 15 month run, Teatro ZinZanni enjoyed more than 11 years in San Francisco and plans to return in a permanent location.
Since March of 2000, Teatro ZinZanni San Francisco has welcomed more than 1,000,000 people into the gorgeous Palais Nostalgique for a bewitching blend of European cabaret, cirque arts, music and comedy combined with a gourmet five-course dinner.
