New Solo Exhibit by Andrew Prokos on View at Consulate General of Brazil

Award-winning photographs of Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia created by noted architectural and fine art photographer Andrew Prokos are currently on exhibition at the Consulate General of Brazil in New York.

Entitled "Brazil: Night & Day - Photographs by Andrew Prokos", the exhibition includes Prokos's latest photographs from Rio de Janeiro, including large-scale panoramic cityscapes of the city at dusk and at night, landscapes from Rio's famous Jardim Bota?nico, and photographs of architecture and street scenes from Rio's historic center. The exhibition also includes photographs from Prokos's award-winning series Niemeyer's Brasilia, which captures the surreal modernist architecture of Oscar Niemeyer in the Brazilian capital. Brazil: Night & Day was previously on exhibition at Banco do Brasil New York earlier this year, and the exhibition was transferred to the Consulate to coincide with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"I was truly honored to be asked by the Consulate General of Brazil to exhibit my work in New York" says photographer Andrew Prokos. "The exhibition area in the Consulate is a very high-traffic space and receives visitors from around the world. It was logistically challenging to transfer the exhibition from Banco do Brasil and set up the exhibition at the Consulate, but also very rewarding in that it will be seen by so many more visitors over the next few months."

"The Consulate General of Brazil in New York is excited to be supporting this exhibition of Andrew Prokos's photographs" says Mariana Benevides, Deputy Consul and head of the Cultural Affairs department at the consulate. "The photographs are not only beautiful, but show a side of Brazil that is not often seen outside of the country."

The exhibition is on display from May 5 to July30, 2014 at 225 E 41st St, New York, NY.
