Babson Capital with The Light Factory To Host THE LIGHT FACTORY: UNITED

Babson Capital Management today announced that the firm will host a photography exhibition in collaboration with Charlotte-based The Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film.

"The Light Factory: UNITED" is a collection of 24 images created by four longtime members of The Light Factory, and will be featured in the two-story atrium lobby of Babson Capital's offices in the Duke Energy Center from February 10 through June 6.

"Babson Capital is pleased have the opportunity to showcase the work of these accomplished photographers and The Light Factory, which has been an integral part of the arts community in Charlotte and nationwide for more than four decades," said Sheldon Francis, Babson Capital's Co-General Counsel. "As one of only four arts organizations in the U.S. dedicated to photography and film, The Light Factory is a unique cultural asset that deserves the support of the entire community."

"We are grateful to Babson Capital for providing such a beautiful, naturally lit space for this exhibition and introducing our work to a new audience," said Byron Baldwin, a founding member of The Light Factory and one of the exhibit's featured photographers. "This exhibition celebrates the role that The Light Factory has played in uniting us around our shared passion for the power of image, and it also marks a new era for The Light Factory as we prepare to move into our new home in Plaza-Midwood later this year."

Babson Capital will host a reception to mark the exhibit on Thursday, February 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests of honor will include Baldwin and fellow exhibitors Phil Moody, current board president of The Light Factory, Carolyn DeMeritt, a past board member, and past executive director Linda Foard Roberts.

With more than 130 associates based in Charlotte, Babson Capital is committed to making a difference in the communities where its employees live and work through its support of civic, philanthropic and nonprofit initiatives. In addition to its role as title sponsor of the UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business Quarterly Economic Forecast, Babson Capital actively supports, through financial contributions as well as volunteer service, several local nonprofit organizations, including Autism Speaks, the Levine Children's Hospital's Hopebuilders 5K Run/Walk, Sarcoma Stomp and the Hit the Brixx 10K/5K.
