Last week, to celebrate Pride Month, BroadwayHD brought Del Shores' Southern Baptist Sissies to the streaming service. An award-winning play starring Leslie Jordan, Willam Belli and Emerson Collins who narrates the story of four gay boys who are rife with conflict as they navigate their identities through the web of disapproving religious figures in their community. BroadwayHD presents viewers the chance to come and meet those dancing feet of 42nd Street, when it debuts in cinemas as a one-night Fathom Events screening in movie theaters nationwide on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. local time. It will then be available on the Webby-nominated streaming service at a date to be announced.

This new year will bring the 48th anniversary of Janis Joplin's untimely death and 50th anniversary celebration for Woodstock, so BroadwayHD is opening the new year by releasing A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin starring the show's Tony-nominated star Mary Bridget Davies. The cast will also feature Aurianna Angelique, Ashley Támar Davis, Tawny Dolley, Paige McNamara and Jennifer Leigh Warren. This tribute to the iconic rock star will be released on what would have been her 76th birthday, January 19.

Arriving just in time for the 120th birthday of the legendary George Gershwin, las month, BroadwayHD debuted the dazzling hit musical An American in Paris, featuring a live captured performance from London's Dominion Theatre in 2018. The filmed performance headlines original Broadway stars Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan and British Royal Ballet dancer Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin along with a company of 50 cast members including Haydn Oakley as Henri Baurel, Zoe Rainey as Milo Davenport, David Seadon-Young as Adam Hochberg and Jane Asher as Madame Baurel.

Last week, BroadwayHD released the filmed version of the 2003 Olivier Award winning National Theater production of JERRY SPRINGER THE OPERA. Written by Richard Thomas and Stewart Lee, after it's acclaimed London premiere, the one-of-a-kind show made its way to New York City for a concert staging at Carnegie Hall in 2008, then later as part of the Off Broadway troupe New Group's 2017-18 season.

Last month, BroadwayHD premiered a collection of 10 titles (eight live productions and two original documentaries) based on the avant-garde entertainment company Cirque du Soleil's most successful live events to date. All 10 of the titles are currently streaming.

Kings Theatre, in association with the Catskill Jazz Factory and WQXR, will play host to a must-see musical event: The Stereo Hideout Orchestra, led by virtuoso composer, conductor, producer, and arranger Steve Hackman, will marry the likes of two seemingly disparate entities, Brahms's 1st Symphony and Radiohead's OK Computer, through the good graces of a 55-piece orchestral sprawl, three guest vocalists Will Post, Andrew Lipke and Keren Tayar, and a ton of ambition.

The BroadwayHD digital capture is a multi-camera shoot of the award winning stageplay with book and lyrics by Tony winner, Joe DiPietro, and music by Tony winner,David Bryan. The film and musical tell the story of an aspiring environmental scientist, Melvin, who vows to clean up his home state of New Jersey from chronic pollution. The townspeople doubt Melvin's ability to find a solution to hazardous chemicals, throw him into a vat of toxic waste, which turns him into a superpower avenger, he finds a girlfriend and you guessed it, he ends up saving the planet. DiPietro and Bryan took the original campy elements, added hysterical lyrics and hum along tunes and created a new musical destined to become its own cult classic.

One dance craze that has proved its staying power is Riverdance. The awe-inspiring display of tap and Irish step dancing grew from the Michael Flatley signature event to an international phenomenon that spans cultures and countries. It's become a powerful movement in the world of dance, bringing a style usually reserved for tradition into the mainstream.
