Washington National Opera (WNO) opens its 2012-2013 season with Gaetano Donizetti's Anna Bolena, September 15 to October 6 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Celebrated American soprano Sondra Radvanovsky returns to WNO to make her role debut as Anne Boleyn. This striking production, new to Washington, is directed by Stephen Lawless, and the WNO Orchestra will be led by Italian conductor Antonello Allemandi in his WNO debut.

Coming Up This Week in Theatre - 9/15/2012Stockard Channing, Brooke Shields and More Set for Culture Project's THE EXONERATED, Beginning 9/15 - 9/15/2012

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Founder & Artistic Director), celebrates its return to the theaters at 45 Bleecker Street with the award-winning 10th anniversary production of the hit play, The Exonerated, written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, presented in special association with The Innocence Project, Directed by Bob Balaban (Gosford Park), the rotating cast will feature Stockard Channing, Brian Dennehy, John Forte, and Brooke Shields. Exoneree Sunny Jacobs, whose story is shared within the play, joins the cast for one-week, September 25 – 30. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The Mario Lanza Society of New York will hold another of its gala luncheons saluting the late tenor on Saturday September 15, 2012 at 1 P.M. at Patsy's Restaurant (236 West 56th Street). Among those paying tribute to Lanza's career will be legendary soprano Elaine Malbin and featured performers soprano Emily Stokes, tenor Michael Padgett, and accompanist David Schaefer. The musical program will also include recorded selections from the illustrious careers of Mr. Lanza and Ms. Malbin.
