Launching with Tim Carroll's first season as Artistic Director, the Shaw Festival collaborates with Greyhound Lines, Inc. to offer direct bus service from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake beginning in 2017.
Operating April through October, the Shaw Express departs from the Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto from Thursday to Sunday. The Shaw Festival branded buses are wheelchair accessible with free Wi-Fi and an onboard guide to answer questions and offer assistance, ensuring a high-quality patron experience as guests travel to and from Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Shaw Express offers flexible scheduling options: patrons can choose to come for one day or stay for the weekend with a round trip costing $25. "Toronto is one of our most important markets, but we know it can be tough to get from the city to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our relationship with Greyhound Lines, Inc. solves that problem," said Tim Jennings, Executive Director and CEO of the Shaw Festival. "The Shaw Express provides patrons who don't want to drive, or don't have access to a car, a way to take in our standout 2017 season."
