The winners of Colorado's Bobby G Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor (Elisha Horne) and Actress (Abby Lehrer) are currently in New York City as finalists for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards), which recognizes excellence in high school musical theatre across the nation. The students will make their Broadway debut this Monday, June 25, at the Minskoff Theatre in a ceremony hosted by Broadway star Laura Benanti.

The Jimmy Awards have just announced the industry coaches for the tenth annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 25th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre. The six coaches - Lisa Brescia, MaryAnn Hu, Adam Kantor, Howard McGillin, Natalie Weiss, And Schele Williams - will mentor the 80 high school students from across America who will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress.

The Broadway League has announced that the 10th annual Jimmy® Awards ceremony will be streamed Live in its entirety on Facebook. The Jimmy Awards will take place on Monday, June 25th at 7:30PM ET at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan, and will be hosted by Tony Award Winner® Laura Benanti. Eighth Annual Triangle Rising Stars Winners Announced At DPAC

Along with Marchael Bayne, Theatre in the Park, and ABC 11, DPAC hosted this year's Triangle Rising Stars Awards onstage on Tuesday evening, May 15.  The Triangle Rising Star Awards (TRS) is a program that brings together area high school musical theater students to perform together and compete against one another for educational scholarships. Last year's winners, Kaylee Terrell and Nicholas Kraft, presented the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor, while awards were also given for Best Ensemble and Best Musical.

The Broadway Education Alliance just announced that The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan. This program is open to high schools located in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Orange and Rockland Counties, and Westchester. To be eligible, high schools must present an officially licensed production of a Broadway musical during the 2017- 2018 academic year. The Roger Rees Awards has accepted 29 schools, whose students will compete for the title of Best Actor and Best Actress. Winners of the Roger Rees Award will represent the Greater New York region at The Broadway League Foundation's Jimmy® Awards (also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards) in June.

Starlight leaders, staff and board members personally delivered 132 nominations to 30 area high schools. On Thursday night, May 17, winners of the 2018 Blue Star Awards will be announced and receive their honors in a public ceremony on Starlight's Cohen Community Stage.
