The School of Theatre & Dance at the University of Montana is a rich and rewarding program for anyone seeking a career in the arts. Fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST), our faculty and staff bring years of professional and educational experience to our classrooms and productions, providing incredible opportunities for students in each and every year of the program. The size of our School guarantees numerous opportunities for students to work both in front of and behind the scenes from the day they arrive until the time they graduate. Students enjoy small classes and individualized training in spacious and well-equipped studios, shops, and performance venues. In the best tradition of academic theatre training, our program successfully balances high-quality productions with challenging and exciting coursework. Students also have the unique opportunity to gain professional experiences with the Montana Repertory Theatre, a nationally touring Equity company, and CoMotion Dance Project, a regionally touring and teaching dance company, both of which are based in the School of Theatre & Dance.
