LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT present the fifth show of its 2016-2017 season, Davis Gaines starring in his Ovation award-winning role as Don Quixote in MAN OF LA MANCHA, with book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion, music by Mitch Leigh, musical direction by Jeff Rizzo, choreography by Patti Colombo and directed by Glenn Casale. MAN OF LA MANCHA will preview on Friday, June 2, 2017 (with a press opening on Saturday, June 3) and run through Sunday, June 25, 2017 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

Pat Ciamacco, the curmudgeon of glee and horror, is at it again. While it seems almost by chance, the artistic director of Blank Canvas selects the likes of OUR TOWN, TWELVE ANGRY MEN and OF MICE AND MEN. But most often Ciamacco digs up such scripts as THE WILD PARTY (a play about decadence and uninhibited sexual behavior), REEFER MADNESS (the 'truth' about using marijuana), BAT BOY THE MUSICAL (the tale of a large-eyed fanged human child), TRIASSIC PARQ THE MUSICAL (a songfest 65-million years in the making), DEBBIE DOES DALLAS (a stage version of the 1978 pornographic film), and TEXAS CHAINSAW MUSICAL (the story of a handsome serial killer and his overly affectionate momma, staged complete with a 'blood zone,' where members of the audience chose, if they desired, to be bathed in fake blood!)

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are delighted to present the second show of its 2016-2017 season:  Davis Gaines starring in the hilarious comedy LEND ME A TENOR, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Art Manke.  LEND ME A TENOR will preview on Friday, October 21, 2016 (with a press opening on Saturday, October 22) and run through Sunday, November 13, 2016 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.   

Jobsite continues the 2016-17 season with their third co-production with the Straz Center in the Jaeb Theater (Return to the Forbidden Planet, Silence! The Musical). Bay Area audiences are in for another just-in-time-for-Halloween treat with the Drama Desk Award-nominated LIZZIE, a killer rock musical that is taking the nation by storm. Tampa Repertory Theatre will produce Eugene O'Neill's landmark American drama THE ICEMAN COMETH at Studio 120 on the University of South Florida campus from June 16 to July 3.

Silence! The Musical (lyrics & music by Jon Kaplan & Al Kaplan and book by Hunter Bell) will be produced by Standing Room Only Productions at Obsidian Theater (www.obsidiantheater.org). With direction by Chris Patton, music direction by Eduardo Guzman, choreography by Eric Dano and assistant direction and stage management by Lauren Hainley, the production will run June 9 through June 25, 2016. Jobsite Theater offers up a sexy and smart classic in Jean Genet's unequivocally literate 1947 play THE MAIDS, playing April 29 - May 22, 2016 in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center where Jobsite is resident theater company. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in costume below!

TexARTS presents the Broadway classic 'Guys and Dolls' for the second production of the 2015-16 professional series. Gathering the best central Texas talent and veteran Broadway leadership, TexARTS will bring the spark and glamour of 1940s New York City to the Kam and James Morris Theatre. From the chic cocktail reception, to the spectacular performance, the lavish dinner and the elegant VIP after-party, Broadway in the Berkshires, Shakespeare & Company's Benefit Celebration was a smash hit! Monday evening Artistic Directors Ariel Bock and Jonathan Croy welcomed a full house at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington.
