Winners have been announced for the 2024 BroadwayWorld Cincinnati Awards! The 2024 Regional Awards honor regional productions, touring shows, and more which had their first performance between October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.

Central Indiana Dance Ensemble is celebrating 25 years of providing cultural and educational enrichment to the central Indiana community. To commemorate the 25th anniversary, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble will be hosting an Anniversary Gala.

When I first saw The Nutcracker, I was convinced one of these things must be true: either someone had spiked my drink, the cast were all on drugs or we were all in some kind of baffling nightmare. No other explanation seemed plausible to my young mind.

Macabre and spectacular, this is Christmas fare as it once was and should still be, fully trusting its audience.

In December 2022, I had the honour of seeing Veronica Paeper and Cape Town City Ballet’s THE NUTCRACKER. The same talented production team returns this season to stage this timeless ballet again. The result is just as beautiful as when I watched it two years ago. While this year’s production takes place in the Theatre rather than the larger Opera House, the production does not lose any of the magic from the 2022 production.

These days the Nutcracker can take many forms, from funny to sultry, and everything in between. That is the case with The Hard Nut presented by BAM and Mark Morris Dance Group in Brooklyn. Based on the book by E.T.A. Hoffmann, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, this dance performance is a fun and wacky time for all, including family and children even with those sexual innuendos thrown in there for the adults.

What did our critic think of Anastasia at Bucks County Playhouse?

It has been some time coming. For nearly 15 years English National Ballet enthusiastically performed Wayne Eagling’s Nutcracker, a traditional but rather staid production with a fuzzy narrative and lacking opportunity for the company to shine.
