John Little will play the iconic Ebenezer Scrooge in Troy Siebels' 15th annual production of A Christmas Carol at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Little, a Yale School of Drama graduate, is known for his work on the national tour of Cabaret (Roundabout Theatre Company) and HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire'.

John Mabey's three-person play A Complicated Hope centers around Marie and her daughter Rose Marie who are left adrift after their husband and father, Michael, passes away. But it's how he leaves that alters the lives of the family forever, especially after they meet Arnie, Michael's boyfriend. Mirroring the erratic path of grief itself, A Complicated Hope flashes between the moments in time that changed them all, exploring the challenges of both finding a family of choice and letting yourself be found. Earlier this year, Kentwood Players presented a reading of Mabey's play in which Shawn Lefty Plunkett portrayed the role of Arnie. I was curious to find out what led to his decision to produce the fully-staged West Coast premiere of A Complicated Hope as well as take on the role of Arnie again.

D.W. Gregory's political thriller Memoirs of a Forgotten Man will receive an industry reading on Thursday, December 1 at 2:30 p.m. Directed by James Glossman, the reading takes place at the Mary Rodgers Room at the Dramatists Guild.

Sir John Tomlinson, one of the UK's foremost opera singers, stars in The Shackled King, a new dramatic work by the British composer John Casken based on Shakespeare's King Lear. It receives its London première at Wigmore Hall on 26 January 2023. The Shackled King, a 50-minute drama for bass, mezzo-soprano and ensemble, also stars Rozanna Madylus as Lear's daughter Cordelia, her sisters, Goneril and Regan, and the Fool.

The John W. Engeman Theater has announced the cast and creative team of A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL. Performances begin on Thursday, November 17, 2022, and run through Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Gavin Creel helped breast cancer survivor Carina Ranieri fulfill her lifelong dream of dancing on a Broadway stage. After choosing college over pursuing performing Carina Ranieri found peace by dancing through her breast cancer diagnosis and now she was able to live out her dream by dancing onstage at Into the Woods. Resonance Works' tenth anniversary season opens with a poignant contemporary American opera this October. Celebrated creator Cerise Lim Jacobs and composer Jorge Sosa produced I Am a Dreamer Who No Longer Dreams in response to the Trump administration's efforts to rescind the Deferred Action for Children Arrivals law (DACA, also known as the Dreamer Act) in 2019. The opera explores the complex journey of immigration through the eyes of its two lead characters.
