The theater community rallied together once again with spirited skits, dynamic dance and brilliant bonnets as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ Easter Bonnet Competition returned April 24 and 25, 2023. The performances celebrated in-theater Red Bucket appeals that raised $3,601,355 for meals and medication, health care and hope for those who need them most.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation has announced the recipient and five finalists for the 2023 Barbara Whitman Award. Established by theatrical producer Barbara Whitman in 2021, the award recognizes a female, trans, or non-binary early-career director who has demonstrated a unique vision in their work with an unrestricted $10,000 cash prize.

The Peace Center unveiled its 2023-2024 Broadway season sponsored by Gibbs Cancer Center and the lineup is like a parade of the biggest names in modern music history. London-based trio Dream Wife – vocalist Rakel Mjöll (she/her), guitarist Alice Go (she/her), bassist Bella Podpadec (they/them) – recently announced their electrifying third album, Social Lubrication. Produced by the band’s own Alice Go, “Orbit” finds Dream Wife at their best as they gear up to release their new record.

Broadway Dallas has announced the 2023 nominees for the 12th Annual Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards (HSMTA). The awards ceremony will take place live at the Music Hall at Fair Park on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Tickets will go on sale May 3 at 10 a.m.   

A vibrant and diverse cast of 14 LGBTQIA+ and Deaf performers will come together to perform Emma Frankland and Subira Joy's adaptation of John Lyly's early modern play Galatea at Brighton Festival, which was written in the 1580s and performed in front of Elizabeth I.

We continue the series with the creatives from Broadway's biggest Elizabethan pop concert extravaganza, & Juliet- Lighting Designer Howard Hudson, Hair/Wig and Makeup Designer J. Jared Janas, Sound Designer Gareth Owen, and Video/Projection Designer Andrzej Goulding.

Wednesday release their highly awaited new album, Rat Saw God, via Dead Oceans. To mark the occasion the band has shared a video for album highlight “Quarry.” Across the album’s ten tracks the band builds a shrine to minutiae. Half-funny, half-tragic dispatches from North Carolina unfurling.

World Stage Theatre Company's Fifth Season continues with the funny and poignant, I and You  by Lauren Gunderson with the World Stage directorial debut of Justin Daniels.  The 2-person cast will star, Miguel Elionay and MJ Santiago, Parker Gelsthorpe and Londyn Anderson.

The Saint Sebastian Players'(SSP) 41st season concludes with the comedy It's Only A Play by the late Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally, the first Chicago production since the playwright's death. Performances take place April 28–May 21, 2023 in the lower level of St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey, Chicago (enter on Marshfield).

Segerstrom Center for the Arts has announced its lineup of Broadway shows to be presented in its 2023-24 season. The Center's Broadway series will include ten incredible productions beginning in September.

Pace School of Performing Arts, located in lower Manhattan, is a partner in the development of new works for stage and screen. Director and choreographer Denis Jones will be working with students at Pace School of Performing Arts on the development of a new show titled, BANKSY.
