Berkeley Rep Announces Full Cast For John Leguizamo's World Premiere Musical KISS MY AZTEC

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.
Violinist Simon James to Join Faculty of San Francisco Conservatory of Music

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) today announces the appointment of violinist Simon James to its faculty. James, currently second assistant concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony, will lead a full studio at SFCM starting in Fall 2019.

The San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle (SFBATCC) held its 43rd Annual Excellence in Theatre Awards Gala on Monday, March 25th at San Francisco's historic Victoria Theatre. Over 300 members of the community gathered as 67 production awards for theatre produced in 2018 and four Special Awards were presented. The evening was hosted by Daniela Innocenti Beem and David Templeton with musical entertainment provided by The Lost Trio.

 EnActe Arts is proud to present The Case of the Vanishing Firefish, a new play both adapted and directed by EnActe co-founder, Vinita Sud Belani. It is based on the original novel, Ayesha and the Firefish written by London-based tech and digital entrepreneur Ajay Chowdhury who was a founding investor in Shazam, and is based on a series of bedtime stories told by him to his daughters. It revolves around a 10-year old girl named Ayesha who seizes the day and attempts to solve the disappearance of bioluminescent phytoplankton in the world's oceans.

The African-American Shakespeare Company closes their production of Leslie Lee's Black Eagles this weekend on March 31st. The show is directed by the company's Artistic Director, L. Peter Callender. This marks a return of the company to the Marine's Memorial where it presents the extraordinary drama about the Tuskegee Airmen, America's first black fighter pilots. The play opens onstage during a reception honoring the airmen. As the now-elderly WWII pilots reminisce, their younger selves join them, which serves as the basis for the story of this brave company to be retold.
