San Francisco Opera presents Antonin Dvo?ak's Rusalka at the War Memorial Opera House, June 16-28, in David McVicar's "thoughtfully conceived and brilliantly executed" (Chicago Tribune) production. The Czech fairy tale opera features a cast headed by Rachel Willis-Sorensen in her role debut as Rusalka,Brandon Jovanovich as the Prince, Jamie Barton as Ježibaba, bass Kristinn Sigmundsson as Vodnik and Sarah Cambidge as the Foreign Princess. South Korean maestra and Houston Grand Opera Principal Guest Conductor Eun Sun Kim leads the cast and San Francisco Opera Orchestra in her first Company engagement. Chorus Director Ian Robertson prepares the chorus.

San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon presents the Bay Area regional premiere of 2012's Tony Award-winning 'Best Musical' ONCE. Based on the 2007 motion picture written and directed by John Carney, ONCE features a book by Enda Walsh (2012 Tony Award-winner, 'Best Book of a Musical') and a score by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (including the 2008 Academy Award-winning song 'Falling Slowly'). 42nd Street Moon's production of ONCE runs from June 12 - 30, 2019 and will perform at San Francisco's Gateway Theatre (215 Jackson St, San Francisco, CA 94111). The press opening will take place on Saturday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets range from $28 - $75 and can be purchased through the Box Office at (415) 255-8207 or online at www.42ndstmoon.org.

Created in 2012, ArtShare provides free performance space for independent artists and small to mid-sized companies without permanent performance spaces who would benefit from being in residence at A.C.T.'s Costume Shop Theater (1117 Market St.), A.C.T.'s 49-seat black-box venue. Last night, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley received the 2019 Regional Theatre Tony Award at the 73rd Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, hosted by James Corden and featuring a galaxy of stage and screen stars, including Tina Fey, Laura Linney, Bryan Cranston, Adam Driver, Audra McDonald and hundreds of other famed performers, directors, playwrights and designers. Broadway star Danny Burstein (also a TheatreWorks alumnus) welcomed to the stage TheatreWorks Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley, Executive Director Phil Santora, and TheatreWorks's Trustee Chair Judy Heyboer, where they accepted the nation's highest recognition for a regional theatre.
