Rise and shine, BroadwayWorld! It is  March 17, 2026 and it's time to catch up on all of the theatrical happenings you may have missed in the last 24 hours.

You can now get a first look at photo and video of the all-new principal cast of Hadestown on Broadway. Hadestown is in its 7th hit year on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The cast currently features Joshua Colley, Jordan Tyson and more.

Four of Broadway’s ten longest running musicals are currently on the boards: Chicago, The Lion King, Wicked, and The Book of Mormon. One, The Phantom of the Opera, closed in 2023 after attaining the title of longest running Broadway show of all time.  But what about Broadway’s longest running plays?

The American Theatre Guild will present HADESTOWN at Century II Concert Hall March 20–22, 2026, as part of the 25–26 Broadway in Wichita Series. HADESTOWN features music, lyrics, and book by Anaïs Mitchell and was developed with and originally directed by Rachel Chavkin.

 The American Theatre Guild will present HADESTOWN, the winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best New Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

Broadway in Columbus will welcome Hadestown, the winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards, to Columbus in 2026.

Helen Shaw has joined The New York Times' Culture desk as chief theater critic. She will begin the position in mid-January. Helen was previously the theater critic and a staff writer at The New Yorker.

The national tour of Hadestown will visit the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend for a limited engagement from December 19–21, 2025. The production will launch the 25–26 Broadway in South Bend Series.

Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach will stage A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder from January 9 through February 1, 2026 on the Stark Stage. Directed by Hunter Foster, the production will feature Jake Levy as Monty and Dan DeLuca as the entire D’Ysquith family.
