The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) today revealed all nominations for the 46th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards. This year’s Doras celebrate 221 nominations across 44 gender-inclusive award categories.

The Unbridled Theatre Collective and Aluna Theatre, in collaboration with Factory Theatre, will present the world premiere of 12 LITRES 8800 STEPS by Anita La Selva from May 1-17, 2026. This new production explores impactful themes through innovative storytelling and performance. Audiences can expect a compelling narrative that delves into significant social issues, presented in a unique theatrical experience.

Red Sky Performance (RSP) and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) will present the world premiere of She Holds Up the Stars, commissioned by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

At a press conference held at Meridian Hall, the Toronto Alliance for the  Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 228 nominations for the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto for the 2022-2023 season. Also announced at the press conference was the recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Pauline McGibbon Award. 

The Stratford Festival’s filmed performance of Death and the King’s Horseman will debut for streaming world-wide on Thursday, February 9, 2023 via Stratfest@Home.

Radial Theater Project's production of George Orwell's 1984, adapted for the stage by Michael Gene Sullivan, reopens on March 10 2022 at 18th & Union in Seattle, WA. The production is directed by Radial Theater Project producing director and 18th & Union co-founder David Gassner, and will be performed to both in-person and live streaming audiences.

Big Brother has sent down orders from the Ministry of Truth that there is nothing good about this production and it has no good performances or redeeming qualities, and everything is un-good. But if you know anything about the Ministry of Truth, you know everything is the exact opposite there and that holds true here as this production is a spectacular, riveting telling of this horrifying story and you need to see it. Just don't tell The Thought Police I said that.

Nashville's Blank Range have released their debut album Marooned With The Treasure via Sturdy Girls Records distributed by Thirty Tigers. This release makes the band's first full length album after three years of touring the country heavily behind their first two EPs Phase II and Vista Bent.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival has created a new internship experience for Southern Utah University undergraduates. The Festival Fellowship Program provided SUU students an opportunity to immerse themselves in professional theatre while gaining credit towards their degree. Participating in the inaugural year are Henry Ballesteros, Madison Ford, Josh Hopkins, Amber James, Trevor Messenger, Kristy Dennett, Errin Gropp, Kristy Koslowski, Ryan Turpin, and Jacob Whitney.

With a book by Terrence McNally, and based on the Manuel Puig novel 'El Beso de la Mujer Araña', Kiss of the Spider Woman won the 1993 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score. Running today, March 28 through April 13, 2014, Kiss of the Spider Woman is directed by Billie Wildrick who recently returned to Seattle after her Broadway debut in Kathy Lee Gifford's Scandalous.
