Indigo De Souza is scheduled to play a full band livestream this Thursday Aug 12 at 7 PM EST for Bowery Presents’ Twitch channel live from Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn NY. 

The new dates follow Cobb’s special co-headline “Soapbox Derby Tour” with Nikki Lane, which includes shows at Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Lexington’s The Burl, Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, Philadelphia’s Ardmore Music Hall, Washington DC’s Union Stage, Charlotte’s Neighborhood Theatre and Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse among several others.

De Souza is touring the US in support of Any Shape You Take. The run begins with two nights of album release shows in her hometown of Asheville, NC at the Grey Eagle on August 26th and 27th.

Moving to Asheville at age 16 gave her the community and freedom she was after. It also brought her to a renowned group of musicians including Brad Cook, who together with De Souza produced Any Shape You Take.

On his Smithsonian Folkways debut, there’s something resoundingly new. The faithful will find an even more intense focus upon the word, and folks new to this titan of international folk blues will discover poetry so clear and pure it feels like he wrote it with an icicle on a window.

“I wrote ‘Loose Strings’ after a good healthy disagreement with my better half,” explains Cobb. “It’s hard to hold anything down with loose strings but if you keep working at it they’ll eventually tighten up and it’s worth it. It’s different than a song I would normally put on an album but it’s the raw emotion of a very real moment.”

The EP finds the songwriter exploring themes of growth and finding ways to let go of the parts of their past that no longer serve them.
