FUTUREBIRDS to Launch Winter Tour Oct. 17, Share

Athens, GA-born band FUTUREBIRDS has announced a winter tour and released a psychedelic visualizer lyric video for 'Marco Polo,' from their new album FAR OUT COUNTRY I, which was released in June. The tour will kick off on October 17 in Charlotte, NC, making stops in Charlottesville, Atlanta, Austin, New Orleans, as well as a New Year's Eve performance in Charleston, SC. FUTUREBIRDS are currently on tour for the rest of this month and will appear at AmericanaFest in Nashville, TN in September.

On September 4, the second half of the band's forthcoming double album FAR OUT COUNTRY II will arrive via Dualtone Records. In a physical-first rollout, FUTUREBIRDS released the full 18-song collection exclusively on vinyl in June, while just the first 9 songs that comprise FAR OUT COUNTRY I arrived on streaming services.

About the visualizer, Daniel 'Womz' Womack said, 'When I was writing 'Marco Polo,' I wanted it to be nostalgic, but also present and moving forward, looking ahead with wisdom gained from our experiences, rather than looking back at the old. This visualizer captures the feeling and familiarity of the past with a futuristic look at what comes next down the road and is the perfect bridge between Far Out Country I and II.'

On the tour announcement, Thomas 'Tojo' Johnson said, 'We are stoked to announce brand new tour dates for the Far Out Country Tour for this November and December. Futurebirds, Hampton, and the gang finally return to the south, after a year away, for our last shows of 2026, including special shows in Atlanta and New Year's Eve in Charleston.'

Produced by GRAMMY-winning Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman), along with four songs produced by the band's own Tom Myers, the double album is split into two distinct worlds of FAR OUT COUNTRY I & II — a restless, sunlit day and a deeper, more interior night that blends psychedelic country-rock, indie, and something that feels less like a genre than a place.

This month, FUTUREBIRDS kicked off the final leg of their album release tour with two hometown shows at the Georgia Theater on August 20 and 21, which will be followed by an appearance at AmericanaFest and a run of dates supporting Trampled By Turtles.

FUTUREBIRDS is Brannen Miles (bass), Carter King (vocals, guitar), Daniel Womack (vocals, guitar), Thomas Johnson (vocals, guitar), and Tom Myers (drums).
