Live Comedy Day has been announced as a new annual celebration of the UK’s live comedy industry. Established by the Live Comedy Association in partnership with BBC Radio 4, the inaugural event will take place nationwide on 1 April 2026.

The Second City will bring The Best of The Second City! to the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln as part of its anniversary year. The one-night performance will feature sketches, songs, and improvisation drawn from the company’s comedy archive.

Lorne Michaels, the creator of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, seems to draw the majority of the show’s talent from three primary sources: Second City (Chicago, New York, and Toronto), the Groundlings (primarily of Los Angeles) and the Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC).
