The Delray Beach Playhouse has announced its lineup for 2023-2024, and once again, the venerable venue promises a season of exciting, eclectic, and engaging programming sure to entertain its long-time patrons, and to attract new audiences to what has often been called the ‘gem of a theatre on the shores of Lake Ida’.

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) presents the fourth show of its 2022-23 Season, Michael Butler, Linda Purl and Nancy Travis starring in the London and Broadway hit, THE CHILDREN,written by Lucy Kirkwood and directed by Jenny Sullivan. 

Rehearsals will begin shortly for Pigs Do Fly Productions' production of playwright/actor Tom Dugan's Cemetery Pub.  This will be only the second time the play has been produced - the first time was in May 2022 in Dugan's own Backyard Theatre in California. Cemetery Pub will run from March 3rd through March 19th at Empire Stage in Fort Lauderdale.

Virginia Stage Company and the Holocaust Commission of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater will host writer-performer Tom Dugan at the Wells Theatre to present his one-man play about the Nazi hunter, Simon Wiesenthal.

Dugan's Backyard Playhouse to present Cemetery Pub, a dark comedy, written by Tom Dugan, produced/directed and starring Kait Haire, JP Hubbell, and Tom Dugan.

Casting has been announced for For The Record and The Wallis' production of LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE, the multimedia concert celebration of the beloved holiday film from Universal Pictures/Working Title, with performances from Saturday, November 27 to Friday, December 31, 2021, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Broadway and television star Aaron Lazar (Fox's Filthy Rich, Broadway's The Last Ship, A Little Night Music, Les Misérables, and The Light in the Piazza) joins the exciting lineup of talented performers alongside singer/songwriter, musician, producer and engineer, Brian McKnight Jr., who comes from a legendary musically gifted family including famed father Brian McKnight. American Idol 4th place finalist on season 4, Anthony Fedorov, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist actor Michael Thomas Grant, and RCA recording artist Nina Nelson, member of girl group Citizen Queen (with over 30 million music video views), also join the cast for the first time. Rounding out the group of newcomers is Cheyenne Wells who starred in the recent production of Little Shop of Horrors at Pasadena Playhouse with MJ Rodriguez.

Actor/Playwright Tom Dugan's new play, Tell Him It's Jackie will have its premiere South Florida run from December 15th through December 19th at the Mizner Park Cultural Center in Boca Raton.  The play received rave reviews when it debuted in Los Angeles in Dugan's own 'Backyard Playhouse' in 2020.

Told with hope, humanity and humor, the play follows Wiesenthal as he addresses a group of visitors on his last day at the Jewish Documentation Center in Vienna. As he reflects on his life and work, Wiesenthal recounts how he faced Hitler's SS; how he endured the loss of family and friends; and how, after liberation day, he began his remarkable journey.

Pioneering arts leader Paul Crewes, who has served since 2015 as the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' first Artistic Director, steps down from his position at the end of this year and transitions to a new role as Artistic Advisor for the balance of The Wallis' 2021-2022 Season, it was announced by Michael Nemeroff, Chairman of the Board.

From Off-Broadway, North Coast Rep presents WIESENTHAL, a play by Tom Dugan directed by Jenny Sullivan. His 90-minute play is heartfelt, deeply moving and compelling; he makes history come alive.

Summer @ The Wallis continues to welcome live audiences back with an entertaining mix of live hip hop and contemporary dance programs and Mariachi, classical and pop music performances running from August 7 – 28, 2021, in a spectacular pop-up outdoor theater – a theater without walls – at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

With the re-imagining of its outdoor terrace, the Wallis provides an exceptional example of how theater has successfully responded to the limits of Covid-19.  And they didn’t forget the fun!

Tom co-directs (with Michael Vale) his one-man show on the well-known musical theatre lead character of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
