Ahmir 'Questlove' Thompson will direct of a live/animated-hybrid movie musical remake fo Aristocats for Disney. Questlove will also executive producing and oversee music for the film, which features a script by Will Gluck and Keith Bunin.

The New Group's Annual Gala, “Woodstock,” is set to take place Monday, March 13, from 6:00-10:00pm, at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).  

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a two-week extension for the world premiere production of The Seagull/Woodstock, NY, by Thomas Bradshaw.

The New Group has announced complete casting and dates for the company’s 2022-23 Season opener: Evanston Salt Costs Climbing, by Will Arbery and directed by Danya Taymor. The New York premiere of this play about climate and change will feature Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Jeb Kreager, Ken Leung, and Rachel Sachnoff.

 Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances.

On the rooftop of Jonathan Larson's apartment, a brick wall with 'RENT' graffiti'd on it can be seen in the distance. Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced the return of Music Mondays; the hit summer cabaret series that invites renowned artists and Tony Award-winners to perform for audiences and share stories of their time on and off the stage.

A Spring Celebration “Dionysia,” benefiting The New Group, is set to take place Monday, June 6 from 6:00-9:30pm at Guastavino's (409 East 59th Street).  This event will honor playwright Donja R. Love and New Group Board Members Jana Shea and Anita Waxman with the Mimi and Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater.
