It’s taken a long time for X: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF MALCOLM X—the rediscovered and revised ‘80s work by Anthony Davis, Thulani Davis and Christopher Davis, in Robert O’Hara’s production and conducted by Kazem Abdullah--to cross the plaza from what was the old City Opera at New York State Theatre to a premiere at the Metropolitan Opera.

Notable attendees of the screenings include Tony Kushner, Don Lemon, Jonathan Capehart,  Kathy Najimy, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jeanine Tesori, Robert O’Hara, and more. Also in attendance was Bayard's surviving partner Walter Naegle. Check out photos from the screenings here!

This October, join Blackfriars Theatre (795 East Main Street, Rochester) for a raucous and slightly twisted new comedy that demolishes the typical view of the American family. 

A knock-out cast of the Valley's top actors come to Black Theatre Troupe for the comedy BARBECUE. Written by Robert O'Hara, BARBECUE tells the story of the O'Mallery family with one twist: the first act is portrayed by White characters, yet for the second act, the characters are changed to Black.
