NICHOLAS BARASCH, age 17, made his Roundabout debut as Deputy/Master Nick Cricker in the acclaimed Broadway revival of The Mystery Of Edwin Drood (Scott Ellis, dir.). Other Broadway: She Loves Me (Roundabout) Kiddo in West Side Story (Arthur Laurents, dir.). Nicholas has performed regionally in the new musical Because of Winn Dixie (Delaware Theatre Company, Marcia Milgrom Dodge, dir.), the world premiere of Leap Of Faith, originating the role of Boyd McGowan (Ahmanson Theatre, Rob Ashford, dir.), and West Side Story (The National Theatre). Nicholas also appeared as Daniel Smith in the Brooklyn Academy of Music/New York City Opera production of Anna Nicole: The Opera at BAM (Richard Jones, dir.). His television/film credits include New Form Digital's "Mr. Student Body President" (Ryan Hunter, dir.), HBO's "How to Make it in America," and Nickelodeon's "The Backyardigans"(series regular). Nicholas' voice can be heard on the Grammy Award-winning cast recording of West Side Story as well as the cast recording of ...Drood. Nicholas Barasch, who launched the North American Tour of Hadestown last fall in the role of Orpheus, will play his final performance at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco, CA, on Sunday, June 12. Chibueze Ihuoma, currently a member of the Workers Chorus and understudy for Orpheus in the tour, will take over the role starting Tuesday, June 14.
