Review: Laughs Fly High in PETER PAN GOES WRONG at La Mirada
by Michael Quintos - Nov 9, 2025
Now presenting an even more over-the-top follow up compared to their first go-round in THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG staged here last February, the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment revisit the earnestly bumbling folks at the fictional Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society for yet another madcap, mishap-laden production of intense British-style slapstick and comical chaotic shenanigans in its high-flying 2013 'sequel' PETER PAN GOES WRONG which will continue to crack up audiences in the City of La Mirada through November 23, 2025. Amping up the laughs even more this time around, La Mirada's so-good-it-hurts production is this time joined by former Olympic gymnast and longtime 'Peter Pan' herself Cathy Rigby serving as its cheeky 'narrator.'
Review: GARRY STARR: CLASSIC PENGUINS, Arts Theatre
by Franco Milazzo - Nov 4, 2025
There’s a fine line between genius and idiocy, and, in his determined effort to “save literature”, Garry Starr doesn’t so much walk it as perform the can-can on it wearing black tails, orange flippers and nothing else. In a show that drops jaws (and, in at least one case, drawers), he flaps through a catalogue of Penguin classics, bringing each to life in a gloriously stupid way.

Review: THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG at The Seattle Rep
by Jay Irwin - Sep 4, 2025
Dear Readers, whether you want to admit it or not, we all love a little bit of schadenfreude to some extent. That joy we take out of something going wrong for someone else. And that’s where “The Play That Goes Wrong”, currently playing at the Seattle Rep, hits the sweet spot. We can relish in the chaos while knowing it’s all supposed to happen. Seattle audiences have been waiting for this one for a while with tours that were announced and then cancelled. And while I know how amazing this show is from seeing the original London cast, this is now a local company and local cast, and it’s not an easy show to pull off. But the Rep has always been up to the task for those tough shows, and I’m pleased to say, they nailed it!

Review: NOISES OFF, New Wolsey Theatre
by Kat Mokrynski - May 8, 2025
As someone who first got into the world of British Comedy through Mischief Theatre, particularly The Play That Goes Wrong, it has been quite the fascinating journey to travel back in time through the history of British comedy, including the iconic Noises Off, which has opened at New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich. This is a new production of the play, which was written by Michael Frayn in 1982, now directed by Douglas Rintoul in collaboration with Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and Theatre by the Lake.
