Luke Kirby

Luke began performing in his teens and was accepted to the National Theatre School of Canada, graduating in May 2000. After two auditions, he began working on the CBS/Alliance miniseries Haven and Léa Pool’s feature film Lost and Delirious (2001).

His early theater credits include Morgan in Factory Theatre’s Geometry in Venice (2001), a performance that earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Dora Mavor Moore Awards, and Patroclus/Deiphobus in Theatre for a New Audience’s production of Troilus and Cressida (2001), directed by Peter Hall in New York City. He also appeared in Judith Thompson’s Habitat, Daniel Brooks’ The Good Life (2002) at Tarragon Theatre, Jump/Cut (2006) at the Women’s Project Theater, and Defender of the Faith (2007) at Irish Repertory Theatre. Additional theater credits include Too Much, Too Much, Too Many (2013–2014), in which he played Pastor Hidge, and Judgement Day (2019–2020), in which he played Thomas Hudetz at Park Avenue Armory.

He played Callum Tate in the miniseries Sex Traffic (2004), Josh Casey in Bury the Lead (2005), Dr. Dan in It’s Me...Gerald (2005), Brian in Northern Town (2006), and Hugo in Tell Me You Love Me (2007). His later television credits include Evan Hewson in Flashpoint (2009), Bobby Amato in Law & Order (2009), Andre Haslum in Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2009), and Jimmy Burn in Cra$h & Burn (2009–2010).

He played Clyde Cowley in Republic of Doyle (2012–2014), Aaron Ward in Elementary (2012), Braden Leddy in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2012), Chris Beckner in Person of Interest (2013), Detective Wolf Landsman in Blue Bloods (2013), and Jon Stern in Rectify (2013–2016). His 2015 credits include Max Kaplan in The Astronaut Wives Club, Edwin E. McAmis in Show Me a Hero and Harry McGrath in The Good Wife. He later played Harry McGrath in The Good Fight (2017), Harry Kemp in Bull (2017), Christophe Bruyere/Junior in Blindspot (2018), Gene Goldman in The Deuce (2018–2019), Tripp in Sorry for Your Loss (2018), Andrew Leibowitz in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2018), Dylan in The Twilight Zone (2019), Tommy Nelson in Tales of the City (2019), Jeremy in Little Voice (2020), Davis Calloway in Gossip Girl (2021–2022), Bell Prescott in Panhandle (2022), Jones Malone in The Company You Keep (2023), and Dr. Nathan Gamelli in season two of Dr. Death (2023).

From 2017 to 2023, he appeared in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Lenny Bruce, with a main role in season four and recurring appearances in seasons one through three and five. The role earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. In 2025, he played Jack McMillan in the comedy-drama series Étoile. In 2026, he played Teddy Campano in The Last Thing He Told Me. He is also set to play Detective Sergeant John Darcy in the fourth season of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.
