White-knuckled and cutting, “Sweet” is a nihilistic anthem that builds from melancholic 90’s dream pop to guttural, rough-hewn rock, the band’s frenetic, interlocking rhythms threatening to disintegrate at any moment. It All Comes Down to This is the sound of the current incarnation of A Certain Ratio. It proves the purest distillation of their essential sound ever committed to tape, and the first time they have recorded as just the core trio of principle band members, multi-instrumentalists Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop and Donald Johnson. 

Sydney duo Royel Otis, are starting 2024 with a bang with the release of their new song “Velvet.” “Velvet” is the fourth single to feature on PRATTS & PAIN following “Adored”, “Fried Rice” and “Heading For The Door.” The duo chant in unison across “Velvet”, a foot-stomping jangle of chugging guitars and keys that becomes a cathartic release.

Royel Otis continue to storm the US Alternative Radio charts with their hit single “Sofa King.” The song is making waves across the US as new fans discover their undeniable indie rock magic. Their album will be followed by a North American headline tour, which includes recently announced festival performances at Kilby Block Party & Shaky Knees.

Sydney’s favorite indie duo, Royel Otis are sharing their newest single, “Adored” out now via OURNESS. “Adored” is a sharp post-punk leaning treat, with its snappy beat keeps you upright and Otis’ croon drawls across an earworm lullaby. Produced and mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer, Dan Carey (Wet Leg). 

The track arrives with a video directed by Sam Taylor, who previously directed the videos for Fontaines D.C.’s “I Love You” and “Roman Holiday”. Speaking of the video, Taylor explains, “Taking inspiration from Lars Von Trier, George Orwell, Billy Wilder, our film analyses loneliness, self-doubt then acceptance, appreciation and human connection.

Next month, Georgia will release her dynamite third album Euphoric and now, she shares the second single from the record, “Give It Up For Love.” Inspired by the film The Beach, and having worked with the legendary producer William Orbit, “Give It Up For Love” has a dreaminess to it that mirrors that era’s pop sensibility.

Grian Chatten shares “Last Time Every Time Forever,” the third track from his forthcoming solo debut album Chaos For The Fly. The Fontaines D.C. vocalist worked with the band’s long-standing producer Dan Carey on the record. “Last Time Every Time Forever” follows the recent release of both “The Score” and “Fairlies.”

Euphoric, Georgia’s third album is due July 28 on Domino, was co-produced by Rostam (Haim, Clairo, Carly Rae Jepsen). Since college, Georgia has collaborated with the likes of Gorillaz, Shygirl, Baby Tate, Dan Carey and David Jackson, most recently writing on Shania Twain’s new album Queen Of Me.
