BIO

D-Davis (aka Diane Davis) a playwright and screenwriter lives in New York City. Her plays have been developed and/or produced at the New Ohio Theatre, Primary Stages, New York Theatre Workshop, Howl Playwrights, AMIOS, HB Studios, Goddard College, and Columbia University. Her full-length plays Complicity received an HB Studio Residency Award, Broken Thread received The Workshop Theater Honor Roll Award, and Grrl Plays Bass the American Woman Fellowship. Diane studied theatre and acting at Bennington College, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Neighborhood Playhouse. She is a published academic, with an BA/MA in history from CUNY, and is finishing her MFA in playwriting at Columbia University. Diane is a member of the Dramatist Guild and the Actors Studio Playwright and Director’s Unit.

2022 Essential Theatre Play Festival Continues With Readings Of New Plays

From July 29 to August 28, Essential Theatre presents its 23rd Festival with the world premieres of two plays and four staged readings, all by Georgia playwrights. The two full productions, The Outrage Machine and A Complicated Hope, opened the first two weeks of the festival, and next in the lineup is the Bare Essentials Play Reading series, produced with support from Georgia Humanities.
