Bobby Steggert is an American actor known for his dynamic and emotionally charged performances on both stage and screen. Born on March 2, 1981, in Frederick, Maryland, Steggert discovered his passion for acting at a young age and went on to study at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
Steggert made his Broadway debut in 2007 in the musical "110 in the Shade," where he played the role of Jimmy Curry. He received critical acclaim for his performance and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Steggert continued to make a name for himself in the theater world, appearing in productions such as "Yank!" and "Ragtime." In 2010, he starred in the Broadway revival of "Ragtime," playing the role of Mother's Younger Brother. The production received a Tony Award nomination for Best Revival of a Musical.
In addition to his work on stage, Steggert has also made a name for himself in film and television. He appeared in the 2010 film "The Namesake," based on the novel by Jhumpa Lahiri, and has had recurring roles on several television shows, including "Law & Order: SVU" and "The Post."
Steggert's talent and versatility as an actor have earned him numerous accolades throughout his career. In 2012, he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance in the Off-Broadway play "Giant." The following year, he received another Drama Desk Award nomination for his role in the Off-Broadway play "The Other Josh Cohen."
Steggert's most recent work includes the 2019 Off-Broadway production of "Our Dear Dead Drug Lord," where he played the role of Señorita Sonia. The play, written by Alexis Scheer, explores themes of friendship, power, and the lengths people will go to in order to protect those they love.
