Yet in Norway, granted it being a small country, have had up until just a handful new productions each year compared to our Scandinavian neighbors. But a small, yet determined, non-profit organization called Norwegian musical theatre forum (MTF) is working hard to educate both the public and the industry on why musical theatre is an art form to be taken seriously.

Regien er ved Peer Perez Øian. 9. september er det premiere pa Hovudscenen med Toralf Maurstad i rolla som Peer Gynt. Nok ein gong skal han gi seg i kast med denne rollen som han har brynt seg pa opptil fleire gonger gjennom eit langt liv ved scenen. Regien er ved Erik Ulfsby.

The Phantom of the Opera' to finally haunt Norwegian audiences, as the musical will premiere in Oslo this fall. 'I am thrilled that we can finally bring the phantom to Norway. It has been a long period of negotiating. We have been working for five years to get the rights,' says producer Karianne Jaeger.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Liv Ullmann has joined the Norwegian cast of Eugene O'Neill's LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. The Tony and Academy Award winning actress has been recently focusing on directing movies and stage productions. Ullmann's broadway credits include: ANNIE CHRISTIE, A DOLL'S HOUSE, GHOSTS, and I REMEMBER MAMA.
