The Maltz Jupiter Theatre has broken all previous records with its recent four-week run of the epic musical LES MISERABLES, earning nearly $1 million in ticket sales.

The Theatre earned $996,000 for LES MISERABLES, marking the most the not-for-profit theatre's box office has earned for a single production, as well as the most earned for a single production in a single day of ticket sales: nearly $22,000.

The Theatre hit two additional milestones earlier in the season, as well: a record number of subscribers (7,626) and the most earned in the first day of tickets on sale to the public ($115,000).

"We are so proud that our not-for-profit Theatre has hit these important milestones, and we'd like to encourage everyone to join us in our success and become subscribers for our 2015/16 season, Another Op'nin', Another Show," said Jennifer Sardone-Shiner, the Theatre's director of marketing. "We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to see our spectacular plays and musicals, and the best way for people to secure great seats at affordable prices is to become a subscriber."

According to a 2011 report by the Theatre Communications Group, the Theatre beats the national average of regional theatres across the country in earned-to-contributed revenue by 9 percent (60 percent earned/40 percent contributed, vs. the national average of 51 percent earned/49 percent contributed). The Maltz Jupiter Theatre's ticket sales cover all show-related expenses, such as costumes, lights, sets, fees, casting, actor housing, musicians, actor salaries and more.

The Theatre is a 501(c)3 organization with an annual budget of $6.2 million, of which $2.3 is donated. Supporting the Theatre with a tax-deductible contribution supports daily operations for the Theatre and its Conservatory. This allows the Conservatory to scholarship 25 percent of its students and supports outreach programs such as the Theatre's student matinees - in which more than 3,000 area students are bussed in each season to attend children's performances - and the Conservatory's Page to Stage program, in which Theatre teaching artists travel to area schools to engage students in the process of bringing a story from its written form to the stage.

"We are ecstatic that our ticket sales have been strong enough to allow our shows to pay for themselves, and we are so thankful to our loyal theatregoers who come from as far as St. Lucie and Broward counties to attend our productions," said Andrew Kato, the Theatre's producing artistic director. "We are also incredibly grateful to the many supporters who continue to champion the rest of our initiatives, including our Conservatory and many of our outreach programs."

The Theatre's 2015/16 season will begin with Agatha Christie: The Mousetrap (October 25 - November 8), a masterful whodunit that weaves an intricate plot filled with nerve-rattling suspense as it follows a group of strangers stranded at a boarding house. We continue with Billy Elliot The Musical (December 1 - 20), the electrifying Broadway blockbuster that follows the life of Billy, the youngest child of a blue-collar family who discovers his extraordinary gift for ballet. Next up is The Will Rogers Follies (January 12 - 31), a Tony Award-winning musical extravaganza that celebrates the beloved American entertainer Will Rogers. Then join us for Frost/Nixon (February 7 - 21), Peter Morgan's fast-paced, riveting drama that illuminates one of the most monumental political interviews of all time. The Theatre's incredible season ends with the Tony Award-winning phenomenon Kiss Me, Kate (March 8 - 27), a witty and delightful Cole Porter musical not to be missed!

Subscriptions begin at $198. Subscribers save 10 percent to 15 percent on single ticket prices.
