Tickets for HAMILTON at the Times-Union Center Go On Sale Friday

Jeffrey Seller and FSCJ Artist Series announced today that single tickets for HAMILTON will go on sale to the public on Friday, January 24 at 8 a.m. (ET) in person at the Times-Union Center (300 Water Street) and 10 a.m. (ET) at fscjartistseries.org. Tickets for Hamilton will not be available for purchase by phone. Tickets will be available for performances March 17 - 29, 2020.

Everything is Rent at the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville, FL. Jonathan Larson's Rent takes place in New York City in the Late 80's to early 90's. The audience follows a group of characters as they discover how important it is to embrace each day they are given because they do not know when it will be their last. Through the entire production on January 14, I could hear fans of the production laugh, sniffle, and applaud as the beautiful story unfolded.

Having grown up in the Alhambra Theatre, Jessica Booth has played in just about every role from a child performer in Christmas Carole to leading lady as Jovi in Elfa??the Musical. Now she takes on an entirely new role, as Director of the acclaimed Broadway hit, Love Letters. To make it just a little more challenging (or perhaps interesting), Ms. Booth will be directing her parents, Lisa Valdini-Booth and Tod Booth. Mrs. Booth has been in more than 200 Alhambra performances and was once knowing widely as the a?oevoice of Winn-Dixie Supermarkets,a?? and Mr. Booth is the Alhambra's former owner and current Creative Director, himself having directed more than 200 shows at the iconic theater.

In Shakespeare's Britain, on the twelfth night after Christmas, wild, raucous, and inclusive parties were enjoyed by many. Over-the-top, lasting until dawn, and full of food, drink, and festivity, barriers did not exist. On this one night secret affections could be declared (and sometimes explored). At least, that's what some historians tell us. Others question just how widespread such Twelfth Night festivals were. Regardless of historical accuracy, Shakespeare certainly used the tradition as an idea and theme for this play. He even included as part of the full title of the play the phrase “What You Will.”
