Who was Jackson?
Jackson was a St. Pete kid through and through. Born at St. Pete General, he attended Perkins Elementary, Thurgood Marshall and Sanderlin Middle Schools, and graduated from Northeast High School.
Driven by a deep desire to serve, Jackson went on to join the U.S. Navy Reserve as an Intelligence Specialist. He was actively supporting our troops in the Middle East while assigned to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in Tampa when he received his diagnosis.
June 26, 2026, would have been Jackson's 25th birthday.
What are we raising money for?
The Jackson Copeland Foundation (JCF) is a St. Pete-based, registered 501(c)(3) public charity. Every dollar raised at this event goes directly toward funding vital leukemia research and providing critical, hands-on support to young adult leukemia patients and their families as they navigate the devastating realities of this disease.
What's with the name?
Anchors: Our nautical theme is a direct tribute to Jackson's service in the U.S. Navy, as well as his father's (JCF Founder and CEO, Jeff Copeland) service in the U.S. Coast Guard. It serves as a permanent, heartfelt salute to all veterans and active-duty servicemembers.
Anthems: Jackson was a massive music lover who believed in living loudly. We will be raising hell, rocking out, and celebrating his spirit with live music from St. Pete's very own Geoff Proud Band!
Ales: We are proud to partner with NOVA 535, a massive supporter of local charities and veterans. Located in the heart of St. Pete, their beautiful facility offers a classic lineup of microbrews—from porters and pilsners to lagers and IPAs. Not a beer drinker? They also feature a full liquor bar, seltzers, ciders, wines, and soft drinks to ensure there is something for everyone's tastes.
Artist: Barefoot Bob and The Hope
