MTOC Presents JOURNEY TO CHRISTMAS

Musical Theatre Orange County (MTOC) debuts a magical, heartfelt Christmas musical, Journey to Christmas. Founders of MTOC, Lori and Mitch Atkins, along with their family created this show in order to provide families a way to experience the holiday in a whole new way. The show opens with a celebration of traditional modern-day family gatherings, then travels back to the very first Christmas. Journey to Christmas premieres on December 13, 2018 at the PYLUSD Performing Art Center in Placentia, Ca.

The Academy for the Performing Arts' Music Media Entertainment Technology (MMET) department presents its annual benefit concert with 'The Beatles Story: 1968.' The tribute to the Beatles doubles as a fundraiser for the department, complete with opportunity baskets and silent auctions and takes place at First Christian Church in Huntington Beach (corner of Adams & Main) today and Friday, November 1-2, at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $40 for VIP (reserved and comes with swag) and can be bought online at www.hbapa.org/see.
Dragon Theatre Hosts A Late Night Stand-Up Extravaganza In November

The intention is to showcase emerging talents in the areas of music, circus, and comedy in order to further the Dragon mission of providing opportunities for local artists while providing low cost, quality entertainment in downtown Redwood City. Taiwan Philharmonic Returns To Costa Mesa Following Triumphant 2016 Debut

'One of Asia's best' (Los Angeles Times), the Taiwan Philharmonic embarks on a North American tour in Costa Mesa, CA at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts on October 30 at 8:00 PM. The orchestra, led by Maestro Shao-Chia Lu, returns two years after their highly acclaimed United States debut at the same hall in December 2016-this time featuring star pianist Stephen Hough. Described by The Guardian as possessing 'the most perfect piano playing conceivable,' Hough will perform Liszt's dazzling first piano concerto with the orchestra. The concert name 'From Formosa' gives a nod to the historic republic on the island of Taiwan while the music traces Taiwan's classical music tradition with Taiwanese composer Gordon Chin's 'Dancing Song' from Three Aboriginal Songs for Orchestra alongside classic works by Debussy (La mer) and Ravel (Daphnis and Chloe Suite No. 2).

The album is executive produced by Raphael Saadiq and will be released on October 26 via Columbia Records. To accompany the album, John will embark on a 25-date A LEGENDARY CHRISTMAS Tour, which includes a return engagement at Segerstrom Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 29 at 7:30 p.m. The tour kicks off on November 15 in Clearwater, FL and wraps up on December 30 in San Diego.
