MTOC Presents JOURNEY TO CHRISTMAS

Musical Theatre Orange County (MTOC) debuts a magical, heartfelt Christmas musical, Journey to Christmas. Founders of MTOC, Lori and Mitch Atkins, along with their family created this show in order to provide families a way to experience the holiday in a whole new way. The show opens with a celebration of traditional modern-day family gatherings, then travels back to the very first Christmas. Journey to Christmas premieres on December 13, 2018 at the PYLUSD Performing Art Center in Placentia, Ca.
Segerstrom Center For The Arts Announces January Line-Up Of Free Events On The Argyros Plaza

Along with the New Year comes an exhilarating line-up of FREE performances to look forward to on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza. Two very special events are celebrated this month, beginning with Dia de los Reyes, or Day of the Kings on Sunday, January 6 and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on January 20. Live on the Argyros Stage features Stevie Talks, Kai Kalama, Hummingbird Hotel, HLLNDR and The Moon Rays.
Segerstrom Center To Reschedule PASEK AND PAUL: UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

Segerstrom Center for the Arts has announced that it will reschedule Pasek And Paul: Up Close and Personal with Special Guests, originally planned for Monday, January 7, 2019. The date change will accommodate the schedules of a number of artists who have expressed their eagerness to be part of this exclusive evening. The new date will be announced when the complete roster of guests is confirmed. 
Valley Of The Moon Music Festival Announces 5th Anniversary Season

 Valley of the Moon Music Festival (VMMF), the first and only organization in the U.S. devoted to presenting the chamber music of the Classical and Romantic eras performed on instruments built when the music was written, today announced the program for its Fifth Anniversary Season next summer. The Festival will pay tribute to Europe's powerful 19th century salonnieres, women who worked to advance the careers and reputations of composers from Bach to Stravinsky. Returning to the Hanna Center Auditorium in Sonoma July 14 - 28, the Festival will make a musical tour of several salons including those of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel in Leipzig, Sara Levy in Berlin and Winnaretta Singer, "Princesse de Polignac," in Paris.

SCFTA Presents Branford Marsalis Quartet & Yuko Mabuchi Trio

Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents an incredible evening of jazz featuring the Branford Marsalis Quartet and Yuko Mabuchi Trio for one performance only on January 25, 2019 at 8:00pm. Led by Jazz Master and Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, the quartet was declared by the Associated Press as "one of the most cohesive, intense small jazz ensembles on the scene today." Quartet members include Joey Calderazzo, piano; Eric Revis, bass; and Justin Faulkner, drums. Opening the program is pianist Yuko Mabuchi whose trio of musicians includes Del Atkins on bass and Bobby Breton on drums.

A beloved holiday tradition, Handel's celebrated oratorio-with its blazing trumpets, thundering timpani and spectacular "Hallelujah!" chorus-provides a moment during the busy season to experience reflection, renewal and joy. Awe-inspiring sounds of praise ring out as Pacific Symphony is joined by Pacific Chorale for the triumphant annual holiday celebration, "Handel's Glorious Messiah," celebrating the birth of Christ. A holiday tradition across the world, "Messiah" has been performed for more than 275 years, but with each new conductor, orchestra and soloists, it becomes a fresh and newly invigorating experience. This year Christopher Warren-Green mans the podium to lead the Symphony along with the Chorale and a host of globally distinguished soloists, including the soprano Klara Ek, counter-tenor David Trudgen, tenor Nicky Spence and bass-baritone Daniel Okulitch. Full of brilliant choral writing, "Messiah" energizes its audience and leaves them singing, "Hallelujah!"

Pacific Chorale Celebrates The Holidays With Concerts

December 2018 will see Orange County's Pacific Chorale give voice to the holiday spirit with two contrasting concerts: "Carols by Candlelight" at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach and "Tis the Season!" at Segerstrom Center for the Arts' Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. The first of the two "Tis the Season!" performances will be followed by the Chorale's annual Holiday Gala fundraising dinner, "Imagine, Inspire, Create," at The Center Club, located just across the Argyros Plaza from the concert hall.
