Town Players Holds Casting Call for Cash on Delivery 3/20-21

By: Mar. 01, 2011

Town Players of Newtown is seeking a cast of 6 men, age range 30-75 and 4 women, age range 25-65 for its season opener CASH ON DELIVERY! by Michael Cooney.

In this fast-paced British farce, Eric Swan has been duping welfare authorities for years by claiming every type of benefit for the innumerable people he claims live at his address. This scam nets him tens of thousands of pounds - tax free! Just when he decides to kill off many of the imaginary welfare recipients because matters are getting a bit too risky, welfare investigators show up. Some ask him about what is really going on, while others offer additional benefits for which he has not yet applied. To outwit the investigators - and his wife Linda, who worries that he might be a transvestite - Eric enlists help from Norman McDonald, his real tenant, and from his elderly Uncle George, whose assistance creates even more trouble than Eric bargained for.

Auditions will be held at Town Players' Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Rd., Newtown on Sunday, March 20 from 7:30-9 pm and Monday, March 21 from 7-9 pm. No appointment is necessary.

All roles are open. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script. CASH ON DELIVERY! is under the direction of Gene Golaszewski. For further information on auditioning for Town Players, including directions to the theatre, visit the website at www.newtownplayers.org or e-mail info@newtownplayers.org.
