BWW Review: World Premiere of Lauren Gunderson's THE HEATH at Merrimack Rep

Patrons of the Merrimack Repertory Theatre are quite familiar with playwright Lauren Gunderson, named the most produced playwright in America by American Theatre Magazine in 2017, most recently for the much-lauded MRT December production of MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY which she co-authored with Margot Melcon. MRT now presents the world premiere of Gunderson's THE HEATH, a heartwarming tribute to the memory of her late grandfather. Miranda Barnett and George Judy inhabit their real-life counterparts with care and humanity.
WBUR Employees Vote To Recognize SAG-AFTRA As Their Union

Today, staff at WBUR in Boston voted overwhelmingly to recognize SAG-AFTRA as their union with 96 percent voting in favor. The election was conducted today by the National Labor Relations Board. The victory allows them to move forward to negotiate a first contract. The new bargaining unit will cover the public media professionals who create content for all areas of the station, including those working in the news department, on the digital team, on Here and Now, Radio Boston, On Point, Only a Game, on podcasts and in the production departments.

Numerous iterations later, he has pointed his pen at perhaps the biggest target on Broadway, the award-winning juggernaut, Hamilton, and its creative genius, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Following its 2016 premiere and successful run at the Triad Theater in New York, Huntington Theatre Company presents the extended Boston engagement of the national tour of SPAMILTON: AN AMERICAN PARODY on its Wimberly Stage in the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Caitlin Cassidy and Nadine Malouf Collaborate on New Play in NYC

Two alumnae of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) are working together once again in New York City on the world premiere of LubDub Theatre Company's A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction. The new play by Miranda Rose Hall (currently in-development) is a new solo theatre and music performance starring Malouf that grapples with being a human in a time of mass extinction. This project is being developed through an ongoing two-year residency with the Orchard Project's NYC Greenhouse. Both Malouf and Cassidy trained at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts in acting, singing, and dancing, toured with Electric Youth, and performed with the Franklin Performing Arts Company.
