Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), the North Fulton professional theatre company, is partnering once again with The Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) to bring great music to summer nights in Roswell. Back by popular demand, GET will remount Ring of Fire, The Music of Johnny Cash on the Ben Brady Pavilion stage this summer at the CNC.

THE BOOK OF MORMON Announces Lottery Ticket Policy For Atlanta Engagement

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins Tuesday, July 17 at the Fox Theatre, and plays a limited engagement through Sunday, July 22 as part of the Broadway in Atlanta 2017/2018 season. In Atlanta, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 each (cash only).
Center For Puppetry Arts To Debut PUPPETS AND PINTS

Guests 21 and over are invited to experience the Center for Puppetry Arts after-hours during its new Puppet Party Series, taking place throughout the 2018-19 season! On Saturday, August 11, at 7 p.m., the series kicks off with Puppets and Pints featuring ice-cold craft beer, a variety of bar games and the opportunity to explore the Worlds of Puppetry Museum in a relaxed, child-free environment. Attendees will also enjoy live music by Atlanta-based bluegrass band Possum Kingdom Ramblers.

Play Me Again Pianos, a nonprofit charity dedicated to installing and permanently maintaining 88 public pianos throughout the Atlanta area, announced today its newest piano will be unveiled at Wills Park Equestrian Center on Sunday, July 15, at 3 p.m.  Play Me Again Pianos invites the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the piano named "Morgan." The event will feature a brief performance, after which Morgan will be open for everyone to play and enjoy.

Synchronicity Theatre's Lee Nowell To Step Down As Managing Director

On June 30, 2018, Lee Nowell will step down as Managing Director of Synchronicity Theatre. Ms. Nowell, an acclaimed and award-winning playwright, is leaving the position in order to fully-commit and focus on a variety of creative projects. Beginning July 1, 2018, Virginia (Gin) Nugent will serve as Interim Managing Director, and will temporarily assume Ms. Nowell's roles and responsibilities. She will not be a candidate for the permanent position. An official search for a full-time Managing Director will begin in mid-July 2018.

All the way from Hangzhou, Hunan Province in China, the students and their families will join GET's conservatory students in Roswell, GA for part two of the new cultural exchange with a Chinese-based company called 'Future Star'.

Fox Theatre to Host Atlanta Pride's Stonewall Celebrations

The Atlanta Pride Committee and The LGBT Institute at The National Center for Civil and Human Rights are proud to partner with the Fox Theatre to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the legendary Stonewall Riots, which became a watershed moment for the LGBTQ civil and human rights movement in America. This first-of-its kind event in Atlanta features a comedy show with Wanda Sykes and Tig Notaro at the Fox Theatre today, June 20 at 8 p.m. The celebration continues with a drag show and performance by the legendary rock band Blondie on Friday, June 22 at 8 p.m. at the Fox Theatre. Local LGBTQ advocate and activist Feroza Syed will serve as the emcee for both events.

The 10th Anniversary of the Shuler Hensley Awards were held in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on April 19.  Two of the award winners, Parker Jennings and Laughton Berry, will compete with young performers from across the country for the coveted Jimmy® Award as well as scholarships and professional opportunities. The National High School Musical Theatre Awards - Jimmy® Awards - will take place at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway at 7:30 pm on June 25, 2018, and will be hosted by Tony Award Winner® Laura Benanti.  For the first time ever, the Jimmy® Awards will be streamed live on Facebook at facebook.com/JimmyAwards. With support from 2017 Tony Award winning Best Musical Dear Evan Hansen and Wells Fargo, the livestream will also include special content for those watching online!
