Colin Mochrie And Dave Foley Join Dad's Garage For Two Weekends Of Improv

Dad's Garage is proud to present a pair of undeniably awesome Canadian comedy legends: Dave Foley and Colin Mochrie. These two are both known for their influence on improv comedy, and creating popular improv television shows worldwide. Each will be headlining on two consecutive August weekends: Dave on the 10th and 11th and Colin on the 17th and 18th. They will join us for our regular programs of short-form and long-form improvised shenanigans.

New Public Piano Announced For Webb Bridge Park In Alpharetta

Play Me Again Pianos, a nonprofit aspiring to make metro Atlanta more musical through 88 public piano installations, will cut the ribbon on its newest donated piano Sunday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. in Webb Bridge Park. The event is free and open to the public, and anyone is encouraged to play the piano, named "Barry," after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival is proud to announce the selections for the Third Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), which will be held August 6th, 7th, 13th & 14th, 2018 at Out Front Theatre. The AMTF will be four nights of original musical theatre performances by local artists, and written by authors from around the country. Performances will be open to the artistic community, the public, and the press. Individual Tickets are only $12-$17 (not including taxes and fees), and full festival passes are available for $50 at www.outfronttheatre.com. All four productions will be performed at Out Front Theatre, at 8pm on Monday the 6th, Tuesday the 7th, Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th.

The Tony-nominated play, which The New York Times called 'gorgeous' and 'unsettling,' tells the story of Una, a young woman, who shows up at the office of Ray, her former lover, who, after having been imprisoned at the age of 40 for his illicit relationship with the 12-year-old Una, has tried to make a new life for himself. A new relationship.  But when Una pops up 15 years later to rehash the details of their former love affair after seeing his picture in a trade magazine, Ray's carefully constructed new life begins to collapse. Alliance Presents 17th Annual Palefsky Collision Project For Teens

The Alliance Theatre has assembled a diverse group of 21 students from metro Atlanta for the 17th Palefsky Collision Project, an annual program that gives high-school students a platform to tackle important social issues.  Guided by the Alliance's Mellon Playwright in Residence Pearl Cleage, director Patrick McColery, and assistant director Rodney Williams, participants are encouraged to find and claim their own voices within a judgment free zone of creativity and community. This innovative program challenges metro Atlanta teens to 'collide' with a classic text and make it their own.  This year's ensemble will explore Thornton Wilder's timeless play, Our Town, and ultimately create their own unique story of Atlanta through the beauty of daily life and human connection.
