In honor of 'Throwback Thursday, IN THE HEIGHTS creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter today to remember the show's closing night on Broadway. He posted: "#TBT Closing Heights on Broadway. I feel a fair amount of the feelings in this montage." Check out the video!

IN THE HEIGHTS, conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda with Music and Lyrics by Miranda and Book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, opened at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre in February 2008. The production was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards, winning four for Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. It was also nominated for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

IN THE HEIGHTS is set in Washington Heights, one of Manhattan's most vibrant communities -- a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggle can be deciding which traditions to take with you, and which ones to leave behind. With a gripping story and incredible Latin and hip-hop infused score, IN THE HEIGHTS is a groundbreaking 21st century musical about what it takes to make a living, what it costs to have a dream, and what it means to be home.

Miranda's other Broadway credits include 2012's Bring it On: The Musical and the 2009 revival of West Side Story. He has also appeared on TV in How I Met Your Mother, SMASH, Do No Harm, Modern Family, Submissions Only, House, The Electric Company, Sesame Street, The Sopranos and more. He is also a member of the hip-hop group Freestyle Love Supreme.
