Asolo Repertory Theatre
6/7-6/29/2014
In this brand new musical conceived by three-time Tony nominated leading man Marc Kudisch, a trio of some of Broadway's top baritones take us on a captivating musical tour of the baritone voice through the ages. Along with a whirlwind of historical and hysterical dialogue, this terrific trio delivers some of the most beautiful songs ever written. From Rossini to Rodgers and Hammerstein, "The Barber of Seville" to the "Demon Barber of Fleet Street," Sondheim to Bing Crosby, Sinatra and Elvis - Baritones Unbound travels from the opera to the man cave (complete with a barcalounger and beer in the fridge) as it celebrates the vocal range of the common man in one enchanted evening filled with music, laughter and showmanship.

Now Playing Onstage in St. Petersburg - Week of 6/08/2014 THE BURNT PART BOYS
freeFall Theatre
6/14-7/6/2014
This all-new original musical, which took New York audiences and critics by storm in 2010, is one of the most imaginitive and heart-felt new musicals in recent memory. Set in a West Virginia mining town that was the scene of a tragic disaster killing many of the fathers in the town, it follows Pete and his unlikely cohorts on a wild adventure that he believes will protect his brother from his father's fate. By turns magical, inspiring, raucous, and playful - the story, set to a driving mountain bluegrass-inspired score, is a coming-of-age tale in the finest vein of the genre. This is an empowering and thrilling theatrical experience for young and old alike that the New York Times said recalls "the exploits of Mark Twain's beloved roughhousers, Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn."
