Her plays have been developed at the Great Plains Theater Conference, Otherworld Theater, The Science Fiction Theater Company, Panndora Productions, and The Barrow Group. She recently won the 8th Annual Festival of New Plays at Panndora Productions, and is a finalist in the 2015 Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival. (more...)

A benefit for Cancer Schmancer, the floating party was held aboard the Hornblower Hybrid. Patti LuPone joined the festivities immediately following her matinee of SHOWS FOR DAYS along with other celebrity guests including Thomas Roberts, Patti Stanger, Jill Zarin, Peter Marc Jacobson, and Ann Hampton Callaway. The Peterborough Players second play of the season is Alan Ayckbourn's comedy INTIMATE EXCHANGES. It debuts Wednesday, July 1st. Ayckbourn is regarded as England's Neil Simon with more than 70 plays spanning 5 decades. He is known for examining love, romance, marriage and relationships with comedy, wit and sharp dialogue. His plays include the award winning, Absurd Person Singular (produced twice by the Players in 1977 and  2013), The Norman Conquests. Bedroom Farce and A Chorus of Disapproval. (more...)

The 2015/16 season of Shakespeare Off-Broadway begins this evening with a limited engagement of The Taming of the Shrew, written by William Shakespeare and adapted by The Theatre Project's repertory ensemble TP&co. The Taming of the Shrew is the first play highlighted in the company's well-received Shakespeare Off-Broadway series, and is directed by Artistic Director Christian Amato with musical direction by Eric Fletcher and choreography by Emily Maddan. The Bard's classic comedy pits the spirited Katherine against the fortune-seeking Petruchio, who has agreed to woo and marry her as a favor to his old friend Hortensio, who is in love with Bianca, Katherine's younger, more beautiful and more popular sister. Benevolent Theatre is excited to present the musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally, based on the novel by Manuel Puig, as the final production in its 2014/2015 season. The production will run July 2nd through July 26th at Trap Door Theatre in Bucktown. Kiss of the Spider Woman is directed by Benevolent Theatre Founding Member Jessica Harling, director of such previous Benevolent Theatre productions as Spoon River. The production features Parker Guidry as Molina, and Jessica Kingsdale as Aurora the Spider Woman. (more...)
