Jason Robert Brown won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre for THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY. Jason Robert Brown was nominated both for Best Score and Best Orchestrations for his work on The Bridges of Madison County this year. He won a Tony Award for Parade in 1999 and was nominated for Urban Cowboy in 2003, both in the Best Score category. (more...)

Playhouse on Park to Host Vocal Coaching Class, 7/14

On Monday, July 14th, Playhouse on Park is offering a master class called Vocal Coaching for Musical Theatre from 7 pm to 9 pm. This class will show students what to expect when asked to sing at a Broadway musical audition. Students should bring a book of music that they are comfortable singing, and will perform a song that they feel shows them at their best. The instructor will give each student feedback, and will conclude with a question and answer session. (more...)

The last time I had the pleasure of guest blogging for BWW, I was in rehearsals for the 2010 revival of La Cage Aux Folles; I've since traded the lipstick and high heels for thick eyeglasses and argyle sweaters. Princeton Day School Takes Home Seven Rising Star Awards; Paper Mill Announces 2014 Winners!

The 2014 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:30pm with an audience of over 1,200. Princeton Day School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical for their production of Urinetown. A total of 29 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes. (more...)

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University announced today the first production of its 2014/15 Season: the world premiere of the musical Finding Neverland, with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Elliot Kennedy, book by James Graham, directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Mia Michaels, presented at A.R.T. by special arrangement with Harvey Weinstein.
