Russian cellist Ian Maksin and Bulgarian pianist Ani Gogova return to the Arts Garage with a new eclectic program ranging from Prokofiev to Piazzolla as well as a Florida premiere of a piece by Maksin himself. The iAN&ANi Duo has appeared on NPR, TED Talks as well as radio and television stations throughout Europe. In the three years since its inception, the duo has captivated audiences of all ages, nationalities and musical tastes, from Miami to Los Angeles, in Europe as well as in their current home base Chicago. Described by critics as "possessing a one-of-a-kind blend of sonority paired with sensual interaction, choreography of movement and charismatic presence", iAN&ANi Duo creates a magical live listening experience. (James/Nicole: note capitalization) Russian-born Chicago-based cellist and composer Ian Maksin is quickly gaining international recognition for his beautiful tone and distinct style as well as his uniquely charismatic way with the audience. Ian Maksin performs over one hundred concerts a year in the USA and in Europe as a soloist as well as part of iAN&ANi Duo. His performances have been broadcast on radio and television in the USA and many European countries. In Chicago, Maksin has been a frequent guest on WFMT, WBEZ and Chicago Tonight, several of his performances made the Critic's Pick of the Time Out Magazine. In 2012 he was named "Citizen Musician" by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for his contribution to the city's musical life and the community engagement. Outside his career as a classical musician, he has collaborated with such artists as Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Gloria Estefan and many others. Ani Gogova's "masterful poetic expression", "ravishing colors" and "virtuoso technique beyond reproach" have been captivating audiences around the world for the last two decades. Her career started early in her native Bulgaria when she won all major competitions, including the most prestigious National Music Competition "Svetoslav Obretenov", as well as top prizes in several international competitions for young pianists. Since then Gogova has appeared in solo recitals and concerts with orchestras in Bulgaria, Italy, Serbia, England, Slovenia, Romania, Portugal, Macedonia, and throughout the US. Her musical renditions have been heard on the Bulgarian National Radio, FM Classic Radio, Interlochen Public Radio, and WFMT Chicago. She has been featured artist and presenter at numerous festivals and conferences including Figueira da Foz Festival, The College Music Society, European Piano Teachers Association, Apolonia Festival of the Arts, Sofia Music Weeks, World Piano Conference, Isidor Bajic International Piano Memorial, and New Bulgarian Music Festival.

During his accomplished career, Dudu Fisher has performed on the stages of Broadway, the West End in London, Israel, and throughout the world. He has sung with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta and has recorded an album of show tunes with the London Symphony Orchestra. He has performed for the Britain's Royal family and for President and Senator Bill and Hillary Clinton. With this debut performance at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, Dudu Fisher's incredible vocal and artistic range will be on full display, promising to captivate viewers with a repertoire that tells the story of a cantor who finds success on the stages of Broadway, but who never forgets his home and its musical landscape.

The South Florida Symphony presents "A Summons to Life." Music director Sebrina Maria Alfonso will conduct the orchestra in a program that includes Mozart, Ellen Zwilich, and Schumann. The program will open with Mozart's Symphony No. 35 in D major. Considered one of his masterpieces, it was commissioned by a prominent family from Salzburg to celebrate Sigmund Haffner's ennoblement. Finished in 1782, it started as a serenade, yet, amazed at its quality, Mozart converted it into a symphony.

She began a dangerous adventure that only the single minded passion of a teenage girl would chance. The boundary between bravery and foolishness blurred as she became more desperate. When she agreed to smuggle a million US dollars in cash to a mysterious contact somewhere in Miami, the agent became her accomplice. Only he had no idea.

American Idiot is on tour and hits the Au-Rene Theaterin Fort Lauderdale, FL, showing from 25 Mar 2014 to 6 Apr 2014. American Idiot is a one-act, through-sung stage musical. The show is an adaptation of punk rock band Green Day's concept album of the same name. Additional Green Day songs were interpolated from other sources, including 21st Century Breakdown, American Idiot b-sides, and an unreleased song called "When It's Time". The book is by Green Day's lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong and director Michael Mayer. The music is by Green Day and the lyrics are by Armstrong. The story, expanded from that of the concept album, centers on three disaffected young men, Johnny, Will, and Tunny. Johnny and Tunny flee stifling suburbia and their parents' restrictions. The pair look for meaning in life and try out the freedom and excitement of the city. Will stays home to work out his relationship with his pregnant girlfriend. Tunny quickly gives up on life in the city, joins the military, and is shipped off to war. Johnny finds a part of himself that he grows to dislike, has a relationship and experiences lost love.
