Now Playing Onstage in Cincinnati - Week of 2/02/2014 HAMLET
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company
1/10-2/9/2014
The King of Denmark's mysterious death, and the Queen's over-hasty marriage to her late husband's brother lead Prince Hamlet to the inevitable conclusion that "something is rotten in the state of Denmark." In his quest for retribution, the eponymous prince wrestles with morality, his own sanity and the very nature of existence itself. The greatest play ever written in the English language, Hamlet paints a startlingly poignant picture of what it means to be (or not to be) human.

Now Playing Onstage in Cincinnati - Week of 2/02/2014 CLYBOURNE PARK
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
1/18-2/16/2014
Called "ferociously smart" by The New York Times and "uproariously funny" by Entertainment Weekly, Clybourne Park is the most acclaimed play of the decade - winner of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play. In two acts set 50 years apart, the same Chicago bungalow sits at a volatile intersection of race and real estate, initially in 1959 with its sale to the neighborhood's first black family, and then in 2009, during the first wave of role-reversing gentrification. While the stakes have changed, the debate remains strikingly familiar in this razor-sharp satire.
